Comments: Built on the north east corner of Denham and Church Streets, and owned by James Connell, one of Hawthorn's early settlers. Sold to Samuel Boyle in 1856 who renamed it the Bowling Green Hotel. Due to competition with the Red Lion Hotel drawing business away, the Bowling Green Hotel was closed and extended into a private residence for Frank S. Dobson in 1863/4.
