Back to Canterbury Historic Plaques
From c.1890, there was a commercial site in Maling Road (then Station Place) between Bryson Street and Scott Street first used by Joseph Sheldon, painter, who had premises about half-way between Bryson and Scott Streets. The premises were occupied by Frederick Haycraft, bootmaker, from 1896 and John Pepper from 1899. The Block was built and owned by Frederick Green in 1907, running from Bryson Street to Pepper's bootshop.
