Comments: The Clifton hotel was located on Thomas Stevenson's "Clifton" Estate, from which it took its name. In the 1870s, Alfred Fuller established the Kew Brewery adjacent to the Clifton Hotel.

It was renovated into an Art Deco style hotel in the 1930s, and then again renovated c.1970, after which it achieved notoriety as an adult entertainment venue. In 2006, it was purchased by new owners, and refurbished as the Hotel Kew.
