Born in Bristol, Somerset, England around 1805
Arrived: Port Phillip, 21st January, 1853, aboard the Barque Velore from England, with his wife, Martha, daughter Catherine and son George.
Listed in the 1851 England Survey as a Bootmaker/Master. After arriving in Australia, he bought land at Camberwell Junction, and established the Camberwell Inn. His wife died on 12th May 1861. In June 1867, George retired due to ill health, and returned to England with his daughter. The 1881 England Census lists him as living in Bristol with his daughter and granddaughter Elizabeth Cooper.
