Comments: In November 1864, the South Bourke Standard reported an application by George Stevens for a certificate authorising the issue of a publican's license for a house being built on the corner of the Government Paddock in Kew. The Princess Hotel was established here during building works on the Kew Asylum, near the entrance gates. It was the venue of the Kew Cricket Club's end of season dinner in 1865.
