Comments: Built by John Hill, in the village of Norwood, marking the eastern edge of the Shire of Boroondara. On Boxing Day and Easter Monday, the Thorncombe Hotel hired a quadrille band and held foot-running and horse races, and greasy-pole contests. It was also a regular location for election speeches to residents of the area.
