Born: 1798, Galway, Ireland

Arrived: 17th July, 1841. Arrived on the England from Newport, Liverpool, England. Ship placed in Quarantine upon arrival due to whooping cough, released after investigation.

Wife: Mary Delany nee Conron, married c.1840. Died 21st May, 1869

Died: 15 May, 1878, at the Royal Hotel.

 

In 1845, Delany was licensed to cut timber in the County of Bourke.

In 1846, he was a settler in Western Creek (near St Arnaud), Victoria, where his second daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Ann, was born.

 

He opened the Royal Hotel in 1856, where he remained until his death in 1878.
