This plaque was originally presented as part of a seat, with the inscription:

GIRL GUIDES

FROM THE

CITY OF CAMBERWELL

PRESENTED THIS SEAT TO CELEBRATE

75 YEARS OF GUIDING

AND THE

150th ANNIVERSARY OF VICTORIA

1985

It is located on the Anniversary Trail, just south of Canterbury Road, embedded in a large rock by the trail.

As of 1953, the Guide movement in Camberwell consisted of three districts whose areas embraces all the well settled parts of the City. Their numbers were 150 Brownies, 300 Guides, 34 Cadets and Rangers who were led by 27 Guiders. Some of those companies had been active for more than twenty years and during that time had assisted materially in Patriotic appeals and many efforts in the City.
